The idea to develop our own birth detector for horses came about because I regularly encountered clients in my practice with the same complaints about their birth detectors: too many false alarms.

The idea began to develop during a conversation with a client who works to develop electronic solutions. After the initial brainstorming session, we put several needs and wants down on paper. The next step was to put together a team of vets, an electronics specialist, a cloud expert and a process coordinator.

We were able to develop a transmitter that worked via Long Range, a wireless communication technology specifically developed for the internet.

Significant progress has been made in the development of our system: no more false alarms and an expansion of the transmitter’s technical features, including a waterproof enclosure, a replaceable battery, an automatic reset function and a range check every fifteen minutes. The status of all your transmitters can be viewed on your mobile telephone via the Foalstart Cloud.

We are a family business working in the equestrian field. Suylighem Veterinary Practice specialises in horses. Suylighem Horse Breeding focuses on breeding and training horses.
